Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

ORIGINAL FIRST PRESS     500 made - super rare - mid '70s PRIVATE

                              ..

                    CYBOTRON

Sunday Night At The Total Theatre

                 AUSTRALIA - PRIVATE PRESS - CY 6542

Top Final Collection Copy
VERY RARE ... this is thee ORIGINAL first press, said to be only 500 copies made, due to overwhelming collector interest has since been reissued on the Attic label but clearly this is the near impossible to find very first issue as released many (40) years ago only in Australia... a custom made LP!
Caught "live" at the Total Theatre, Melbourne, November 1976.
Recorded with the "Artificial Head System" AKG D99.

Released alongside Steve Maxwell Von Braund’s milestone Australian kosmische classic, Monster Planet, and much in the same vein, this CYBOTRON private pressing offers you a similar cosmic trip.

Most '70s progressive collectors are familiar that the legendary Cybrotron released three cosmic classics  in the 70s -- but most are unaware of this private unreleased live recording that was issued on vinyl-only in the mid '70s. So scarce, copies were seldom ever found outside of Australia. The staggeringly rich and hypnotic Saturday Night Live At The Total Theatre featured a live set of ecstatic moog ragas reminiscent of both the heavyweight glory of Popol Vuh (imagine a live "Aguirre" teased out unto eternity) and the blissful endless-nameless sunblindness of early '70s Ash Ra Tempel.
Presented with  do-it-yourself artwork, Saturday Night Live At The Total Theatre is a rare insight of what was lurking undocumented in the Australian electronic sci-fi otherworld from the groundbreaking Australian cosmic Kosmische duo Cybotron.

Make no mistake, there is definitely something quasi spiritual about this live recording. Consisting of Steve Maxwell Von Braund and Geoff Green, Cybotron were heavily influenced by German electronic sounds from the early 70?s. Cybotron were the mainstays of the cosmic electronic music movement in Australia and did much to develop electronic music in this country.

This is electric cosmic prog creativities, large beautiful synthetic slabs of electronics played out across an entire side of an album, thick semi improvised oscillations approached with a rare kind of solar
tranquility. Here the journey is more important than the destination. Side one is taken up by the piece Parameters of Consciousness, swirling trance-like, where it’s not until a quarter of the way in that a beat slowly makes its presence felt. It all happens in such a gradual manner that it’s really only the change in their synth melodies that alert you to its presence. This is space music, experimental synthetic wig outs, and it’s probably more relevant today than it was then.

Side 2 is "Vulcan", which goes straight for deep "out-there" solar space with seemingly improvised high pitched effects (FX) of sound accompanying lower end acid-revelations. It’s beautiful, chaotic and despite being one of the more musical elements on this recording, still quite experimental and the journey takes up ALL of the side...
