50s Rockabillly Hillbilly Charlie Brown 45 Record Hear Ultra Rare Record: 1955 Original Pressing on ROSE Texas
This auction is for another rare rockabilly-hillbilly record which was released in November 1955 on Rose records (Cisco, Texas) "Have You Heard the Gossip" backed with "Don't Put the Blame on Me" from Charlie Brown and his Cisco Kids. Once upon a time, there was a brief rockabilly spark of life in West Texas, in the little town of Cisco. Where is Cisco? Well, it's off I-20, about 100 miles West of Ft. Worth, and yet not quite 2/3 of the way to Abilene.
This record was that spark. This is the one and only release by Charlie Brown and his Cisco Kids singing "Have You Heard The Gossip." It's basically a re-written version of "Good Rockin' Tonight" which was a tune that Elivs Presley was singing at the time. This rockabilly tune is an early one, from November of 1955, which places it just after "Mystery Train" by Elvis on Sun.
Elvis Presley had played a sparsly attended show there in April of 1955, and perhaps it was that spark of inspiration that lit this little rockabilly flame in the West Texas desert. It has since been re-pressed so beware of bootlegs. It has also been included on a number of compilation CDs including: From Boppin Hillbilly to Red Hot Rockabilly.
This is an investment record. In these days of economic uncertainty, put your money into a recession proof collectable record. Record collecting is continuing to gain in popularity just as quality investment records such as this are drying up. This mismatch in supply and demand has pushed prices higher and higher here on eBay...and therefore the prices listed in various guides this year are reflecting eBay's impact on the marketplace. The A side of this record has been added to the embedded auction player so that you may sample the quality for yourself.
This record has been given an overall grade VG+ to VG++. This is a nice record, with a couple of light marks on either side which were likely created by previous juke box play and time spent out side of a paper sleeve. These imperfections are brought out when the record is placed beneath a bright light source. If you win this record and are unhappy with my grading of it....I will provide the winning bidder a full money back refund upon the record's safe return to me. Please review my feedback comments.
Winning bidder pays $4.00 for shipping to any location in the world. Please take a look at my other record auctions. Why? because if you win several of them...I can send all the records to you for the low low one time postal charge of just $4.00. Bid now and bid to win. This record auction will end on Saturday June 11th, 2009, so please plan accordingly.
