/\ Limited Edition 5-LP Boxed-set with Booklet: The Complete Blue Note Recordings of Herbie Nichols: Mosaic MR5-118 (five record set). [ "One of a Limited Edition of 7500" / USA]. (Condition: Records are in either mint or near mint shape, played only once or maybe twice. One or two records, probably not at all; the box is in good shape w/ ‘foxing’ on the inside of the front cover, no splits; the invaluable booklet is near mint w/ no tears, ceases or extraneous writing.) ||| At one time, Herbie Nichols was the "most famous" of underrated -- or better perhaps, under-appreciated of modern jazzmen. Nichols was certainly a gifted composer and unique pianist, this set undoubtedly presents most of his best stuff (*). And talk about your invaluable booklets! It includes many comments by Nichols peers, a complete discography, liner notes from the original albums and lots of rare photos from the recording sessions. /\ All trio recordings, recorded 1955-56 and also featuring Al McKibbon, Art Blakey, Max Roach, Teddy Kotick. /\ There were only two original albums (okay, technically four if you count the 10-inch versions): The Prophetic Herbie Nichols (Volumes One and Two), everything else was unreleased in their own time, with some things coming out in a couple of reissue packages over the years. But yet, still more is included in this set. ||| After this set, if you pick up a copy of A. B. Spellman’s remarkable book, Four Lives in the BeBop Business and then the Bethlehem session Love, Gloom & Bloom, you would probably have all you would need in regard to Nichols. |/\| (*) Not to quibble, but it’s too bad Mosaic didn’t get the excellent Bethlehem recording and the handful of Savoy trks to add to this excellence box. /\ [RE: TED] || Notes on payment options and mailing charges are in the following paragraphs. ||

BT /\ Domestic mailing will be $7.00 Media Mail including insurance and delivery confirmation. Priority would be probably double that figure. This is a five record set, with box and booklet and adequate packing material -- so it will easily weigh in excess of four pounds, meaning that International Mailing rates available upon request, but the package must be sent via USPS Parcel Post. I will include insurance as part of the final price.

1.) I only use USPS.

2.) I guarantee that packages will be correctly addressed and safely packed. (That’s why I ask buyers to respond via email with their mailing address. I cut it out and tape it to the address label.)

3.) I will take NO Responsibility for LOSS of UNINSURED packages. I’ll say it another way, no refunds on lost packages, if they are not insured.

4.) I know that this can be a hardship, especially for International Buyers due to the prohibitive expense of mailing & insuring Parcel Post, which is the only way insured packages can be sent outside of the USA. Insurance is not available for the cheaper Letter-Post delivery. Yet keep in mind that out of about 2000 items that we’ve mailed internationally, only a mere handful (perhaps 6 or 7) has not been delivered. So the odds are extremely good that International Packages will arrive safely. But the buyer (domestic or international) is the one who takes the chance.

5.) This goes for domestic items too: no refunds on undelivered, uninsured packages. As to insured domestic packages: it is the responsibility of the buyer to collect insurance on these items. I will provide all appropriate sales documentation; and if necessary, the proper postal forms to the buyer.

Not to put too fine of a point on it -- but if you don’t feel that you can live with the above caveats -- don’t bid on my items.
