e © AP6.0 Here's another previously undiscovered gem of an LP, happily unearthed by recordsunlimited! Ever wondered if there was a genuinely produced psych or folk-psych album from Iran, from 1970s? Here's one and straight from 1976 (date written on cover). For the psych collector who has an ear for beautiful folk-psych this is an absolutely amazing album up there on top with stuff like Mellow Candle but only if they were Persian! Seriously, I've heard many LPs from Iran but this is the first one (maybe the last?.. if you don't count Revival as a direct Iranian release) I have ever come across to have a settled band sound and a conscious effort in combining Iranian folk and rock. This has been introduced to Mr. Pokora to his high delight and will be surely displayed in his next book. You are seeing an LP which is not only a candidate to be one of the rarest ever folk psych albums but also a truly beautiful one! I am not disclosing the artist name now but the winning bidder will have it safe.

Carefully graded: COVER: It is in VG++ to EX- state. No writings, no seam splits, no tears. At first sight it looks a right EX+. What degrades this is a line of creasing around the middle of the cover, horizontally, as if at one point it has been put on some halving pressure or someone tried to fold it but didn't go all the way through. So, it's just a light crease. DISC: EX- or VG++ more conservatively. Grooves are healthy, have their shine on. There are no scratches, not even scuffs visible at first sight but under a strong light a close inspection reveals some very thin and very short hairlines. There aren't any marks on the disc which affect playing. SOUND QUALITY: The disc plays great throughout lest one spot so I decided to open up this feature on this one. Despite being the center of world's oil production, vinyl produce for record reproduction was never taken seriously in Iran, thus the low quality of records all through 1960s until the record pressing plants were demised in 1977. This sometimes presents some unexpected mishaps such as the one we see on this record: the disc plays through unusually excellent compared with other vintage Iranian records; quite low surface noise and just a few pops on the way, but, last track of the first side of this LP has a pressing problem. I have got hold of another copy of this before (again, offered on eBay previously) and it has the very same unexplainable fault as the this: last song A side has a weird distortion to it despite the fact that visually there absolutely is nothing wrong and the grooves on that particular track looks exactly the same as the others. This tune is audible on the very last track of the audio clip you'll hear below, at 06:52 minutes. Right after that, you will hear another snippet at 08:00, which was taken from the same track but with the tonearm weight increased. Increasing needle-touch weight clears the problem considerably. The rest plays great. Anyway... NO RESERVE on this one but mind you, the last copy (again, offered by me, in EX/VG++ shape) went for over a grand on eBay.
