(.....EP LOVE IS A PROCESS......) by ( AUTOPILOT )...... ....( A rare and interesting piece of vinyl recorded at Spaceward Studios, Cambridge, in June 1979 with Gary Lucas engineering and privately issued in October in an edition of 1,000 copies on the Merimusic imprint (using a catalogue number of the Zel-la label). Hailing from the West Midlands, Autopilot began opearating in 1977 and soon built up a devoted following with their impressive set of mostly self-penned compositions performed by a line-up comprising Thomas M. Williamson (v), Gary Saddington (d), Brian Horne (gtr), Mark Lord (b) and Michael Evans (k). Despite the low-fi production, the four tracks of the combo’s one and only platter are strong offerings: the music lies somewhere between Doctors Of Madness and The Psychedelic Furs, but Autopilot have something unique to offer from the grooves of this recommended 7”. Note: an unrelated act of the same name released a lone single on the Chrysalis label in 1981. VERY RARE UK ISSUE SLEEVE HAS SOME STORAGE WEAR DISC IS MINT!! NICE THICK CARDBOARD SLEEVE )........
