Description
This is a 7 record set of 12 inch 80 RPM records by Columbia. The Title is "The Planets" written and conducted by Gustov Holst and played by the British Symphony Orchestra. It comes in a foldover book format bound with seven record sleeves. I don't know if it's rare, but it certainly not something you'd see every day here in the US. The combination of conducting and writing and record condition is certainly rare. And Google records of sales of same is very skimpy. The recordings were made on various dates in 1926 in England. Condition: I'm selling the collection of an avid collector. Most of his collection was in excellent condition. This set was last graded by Hawthorne Antique Audio at E+. While I have no grading expertise, I see no reason to change this grading. The collection size was such that any record would have been rarely played. The book has wear on all edges and the decorative piece on the binding outer edge needs to be reglued. The binding is solid and the sleeves are all clean and sturdy.
Shipping: I will ship it Media Mail, but the cost would approach 10 and EBAY makes 4 the maximum, so please ignore the parcel post listing. As the weight is several pounds above 4, the postage or other international shipping would probably be prohibitive so I'm listing it as US only. However I would accept international bids knowing the shipping cost would exceed 100 US dollars.
