RARE sought after ORIGINAL 1970 first pressing vinyl by one of the more obscure but tastey British blues bands on the scene...produced by Mike Vernon and is more bluesy and more sought after than their two later LPs. Housed in the thick card pasted picture sleeve...
Jellybread remain buried in obscurity and one of the lesser known and found on the highly rated "Blue Horizon" UK blues-boom label. Before the 'First Slice' album Jellybread issued an ultra rare private press Lp in 1969 that seldom has ever seen the light of day...the 4 piece (primarily guitar & keys) went on to make three solid albums and deserve to be recognized...Highlights include a slow bubbling take of the classic "I Pity The Fool" and the epic seven-minute "Evening" which could have been a moody Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac classic in the hands of the mighty MAC...
Even the excellent slow blues of "No One Else" - showcases British white boys doing inspired playing of black man's blues, albeit 'electrified'. This superb release may yet get its dues, because like the Christine Perfect album on the Blue Horizon label, Jelly Vread's "First Slice" is an essential UK Blues Boom collectible, not far from what Chicken Shack were brewing on their first couple of albums...

CONDITION: The cover is strong and solid, well preserved after 40 years with no seam splits, no bends and no writing..."EX" (excellent) ...looks sharp, only detraction if you can find is a tiny delete drill at top left ...otherwise TOPS
The vinyl is VG++ with a few little nothing top surface hairline scuffs, not audible and plays excellently enjoyable...
