JACKIE JASON

"THE WORLD IS COMING TO A START"

A. Uptempo crossover soul with melodic femme backing in places; written by Peter Udell and Gary Geld for the Broadway Musical "Purlie"; never heard of Jackie Jason appearing on any other tracks, so possibly he was a one-off

B. I put this 45 back on my shelves a few months ago, because I had previously only seen single-sided demo's of the official A-side; however, earlier this week a promo featuring both sides present went for £75 on eBay, so now the search is on; not listed in Manship's guide, but it's £50 in Brown/Koppel; the song itself is a super-soulful, uptempo handling of a Ray Getsov/Sid Frank tune, previously recorded by such crooners as Johnnie Ray, Tommy Edwards, The Vogues, and Perry Como!!!

LISTEN TO THE B-SIDE IN FULL VIA THE YOUTUBE LINK ABOVE (NOT TAKEN FROM THE SALE COPY)

(US: P.I.P. PIP 99, 1970)

Styrene

Record condition (A-side): Mint -
Record condition (B-side): Mint -

Label condition (A-side): Spotless

This record has been played on both sides to verify condition, but there's a full money-back guarantee on all my sales, and I'll refund anyone who isn't totally captivated. Most are sent by 'signed for' delivery (inclusive in the P&P cost).
