This week I have a nice group of early pre 1930 78s recordings. Not often you get a chance to listen to these records when they're for sale. Go ahead, have some fun already. Happy to combine items to lessen shipping charges but please read the grading, sound clips & shipping details below for more information.

Weary City / Bucktown Stomp ~ Johnny Dodd's Washboard Band VICTOR 38004, recorded 7/16/28. Both side have a small flake in the run in area before th egrooves that does not touch the live area. V+, some play wear and very light scuffing. Great early hot jazz two sider.



GRADING
I use the Goldmine Grading System for 78s which you can find at angelfire.com/fl5/roadhouse/grading.html. I collect 78s as well as sell them and try to grade harshly, preferring that you be pleasantly surprised by the condition of the records you receive than disappointed. Check my feedback, my buyers agree with this strategy.

SOUND CLIPS
Sound quality on 78s varies immensely. I'm including sound clips because it's irresponsible for me to sell 78s and claim they are all E+, but I have no way to listen to to them. I do and you should too! Sound clips are made from the record for sale, played on a caliphone 1925 plugged into my ion turntable plugged into the computer. Yeah, I know... Not high fidelity or optimum playback but it gives you a realistic representation of the record. Nothing has been done to optimize or digitally improve these recordings.

SHIPPING ~ PLEASE READ
I have shipped 78s for years. The record will be sandwiched between two thick sheets of styrofoam and floated in a large high quality box. I will only ship these USPS priority insured with delivery confirmation in the US and priority international outside the US with full value declared. Priority assures the shortest amount of time in transit and results in the 78 arriving intact. Costs a few dollars more but better than trying to glue the pieces back together when your 78 arrives in pieces (I can't be the only one..) or waiting for 3 months to see if the US postal service will cover your loss.
