Sad Letter / Your Gonna Need My Help "I Said"
Chess 1434
Very early Muddy Waters on Chess from 1950, featuring Little Walter's first appearance on the label. Primal slide guitar! Two killer early Chicago blues recordings.
Grades V+/V+. Record has very slight warp as with many of these 78s but plays fine with slightly heavier tracking or a nickel on the cartridge. It is very subtle and undetectable when looking at it by hand. Sound is unbelievable - Muddy’s vocals and slide are strong and punchy and there is very little background noise. Both labels are super clean.
The record will be expertly packed using the preferred "cardboard sandwich" method and secured in an oversized box with plenty of bubble wrap and/or packing material. Shipping is $4 media mail or optional $8 priority mail (recommended) in US, both methods will include delivery confirmation and insurance. If you would prefer priority mail, email me at close of auction and I will send you a correct invoice.
