DESCRIPTION:
Very scarce race series Perfect from 1926 with a pair of trumpet / piano instrumentals. Composer credits both sides to Tom Higby, a complete unknown. Remove the trumpet and this is flashy cutting contest piano - the trumpet can barely keep up with the dynamic stride keyboardist thought to be Willie 'The Lion' Smith or Cliff Jackson - we might add Tom Higby to this list as a musician who came and went without a trace. Light visual wear but plays clear with no distortion and quiet surface.
