DESCRIPTION:
Victor 23858 by Louisiana Lou is the second to last of the Victor 23500 country series. Louisiana Lou was the stage name of Eva Mae Greenwood of Rankin County, Mississippi. Attached is a photo of her roughly around the same time of her Victor recording session in 1933. As per the customs of the day, the male country performers often had to dress as rural bumpkins and in Lou's case the ludicrous granny outfit (photo not included). "With My Banjo On My Knee" bears no relation to "Oh Susanna". It's a song in the blues style of many of the white country singers of the period and is billed on label as 'blues'. "Go 'Long Mule" was recorded by many other performers, most notably Uncle Dave and the Fruit Jar Drinkers. It features a second unknown guitarist who does some fancy picking around Lou's guitar. Nice copy with a few light scratches and scuffs. Rare as hen's teeth.

For the most part, they are close to new, possibly having being played a couple times, but all were well cared for until they were boxed up long ago. They will fit into one of the vinyl grades below, and none in lesser condition will be listed with the possible exception of a few rarities.
Vinyl Grading scale:
M- - Like new, as close to new without being still sealed. EX - Similar to M- with very minor handling signs, small superficial scuffs from sliding in and out of jacket. VG+ - Shiny with no groove wear, a few more signs of handling, light inaudible marks. VG - Shiny without the mirror like surface, light signs of groove play, spindle marks, light surface scratches or scuffs. Looking more like a lightly used but well taken care of record.
