78 vintage Columbia 251-D record from 1924 - Patrick Gaffney - Irish Quadrille violin, Irish Polka violin from 100+ years ago - scarce record
From the interweb: A research inquiry about fiddler Patrick Gaffney brought up this gem from Columbia Record's Eire record catalog from 1925 in Ted McGraw's Collection. Per the entry:
"Patrick Gaffney bears the distinction of being the first Irish fiddler to broadcast over the radio in this country, whose music was heard and enjoyed by people listening in Ireland. His violin music is typically Irish, and very popular with those people who like that type of entertainment.".
The Girl I Left Behind Me / Maggie In The Woods - rates E to E+, slight scuffs, very shiny, plays super well on my Dual 1219 turntable with 2.7 78 stylus, slightest background noise.
