Description
Artist: WEEMS STRING BAND Label: COLUMBIA 15300 Matrix: 2-B-3 Titles: GREENBACK DOLLAR/DAVY Grade: E- Comments: A scarce and highly collectible early American old-time string band 78 RPM record by the Weems String Band, featuring “Greenback Dollar” backed with “Davy” on Columbia Records. A desirable example of prewar Southern string band music. Condition: E- (Excellent Minus). A very clean, well-preserved copy. There is some slight blasting audible during the bass-heavy passages, but it is not overly distracting from the otherwise excellent listening experience.

Standard 78 rpm Grading System:
N- = like new (a grade rarely given)
E+ = a virtually perfect copy with only minor signs of having been played

E- = slightly above average copy, some groove wear and minor blemishes but a very decent copy
V+ = an average copy, signs of use, some groove wear but still a decent copy. Music overrides surface noise noticeably.
V = wear, scuffing, light scratches but a very playable copy
V- getting scary!...will play but is quite worn.
G+ = a playable copy but very very worn
G plays through. Not really a pleasurable listening experience.
G- = wall hanger
