The very first "Rock & Roll" record !!!!!
Greetings fellow ebayers,
What I am offering up for auction here is a very clean 78 RPM copy of Bill Haley with Haley's Comets – Rocket 88/Green Tree Boogie - Essex Records #381. Bill Haley's version of this song was recorded on June 14, 1951 and Haley's version has been considered by most authorities to be the very first "Rock & Roll" record and launched Haley's career to superstardom.
SPECIAL NOTE: I have several other collectible Rock and Roll 78's up for auction.
I clean each record that I sell and visually and audibly grade them in accordance with Goldmine standards.
This record grades visually and audibly as a solid EX. It is still very shiny, almost no wear and not a scuff or scratch on it anywhere. I don't believe this copy was ever played but a very few times. I test play every record on my Dual ULM turntable which is fitted with a 2.7 mil 78 RPM stylus. This record plays all the way through very loud and clear with only the very little surface noise you would naturally hear on a 78 RPM record. Clean labels with no writing on them.
This is the nicest copy of this record you will find anywhere if you are lucky enough to find one at all.
I have been collecting and selling 78 RPM records for over 30 years. I pack and ship very securely.
This is a pretty rare record as I’m sure you know if you are a serious collector.
