Many of you that grew up in the 1950s and early 1960s may remember Billy Cotton`s variety shows on TV,often introducing new acts. Billy went back much further than that though and was without doubt,one of the UKs most loved bandleaders. Here for you now is a selection of SEVENTEEN early 78s by Billy Cotton & His Band. You will find some surface marks on some of them,but I can fully assure you that each disc plays and sounds fantastic. I always recommend a lightweight pickup,NOT a gramophone soundbox and steel needle to play the 78s I list,as you will get a better sound quality via an amplifier,plus it will help to prolong the lives of the discs that have been around for many many years. Choose this set,save some shillings and listen once again to some superb danceband music. Dig vintage NOTE:I am going to pop in three more 78s from this band as little axtras. Two of them vibrate,which is a real shame but perhaps you might be able to run them through a more updated amp than I have,and the other one has some visible marks,though plays quite nice. I never discard a good disc unless its beyond reasonable listening condition,so hopefully you will enjoy those as much as the set of SEVENTEEN.
