Description
"I Found My Way to Wine" b/w "Please Try To Understand". 78 RPM record by Jalacy Hawkins, later to be known as Screamin' Jay Hawkins. This 1954 release on the Timely label was Hawkins' second record ever and is very rare! Condition is VG, possibly VG+. The previous owner added their name to the label using an ink stamp (see photos). There is a slight warp which adds a slight jiggle on playback, but this has no effect on the sound. This sample was recorded on a Dual 1019 turntable with a Shure M78S cartridge and no noise reduction or declicking was performed. (I tried to upload a sample of both songs, but Soundcloud detected one of them and wouldn't allow it for copyright reasons.
