The 80s gave us many hard rock and heavy metal bands. Some went on to greatness, and others went on to obscurity and were quickly forgotten about. Some were terrible, but many were awesome! A few even tried to be relevant in the 80s, after being very successful in the 70s. And a few even went on to become legendary...In today's rockin' good deal, we have FOUR 80s metal releases, in their original jackets, with very cool 80s metal artwork on each of their covers!

First up is Candian rock superstars Rush, and their 1985 album 'Power Windows', featuring the really cool tracks "The Big Money" and "Mystic Rhythms". The A side is sketched (drawn) artwork, and the B side is a real pic, (of a real human being!), along with song titles and producer credits. This album is a good example of Rush using synths to enhance their music. Subtle synths, if you will, but they are there. And the music really rocks!

Next up is the Scorpions, and their landmark smash hit album, 'Love At First Sting', released in 1984. The cover is great, as it's a beautiful woman being embraced and getting a tattoo of, you guessed it, a scorpion! That album gave us the HUGE hits "Rock You Like A Hurricane", and "Still Loving You". This one pretty much put the Scorpions on the map, and Germany's finest hard rock and heavy metal band has never looked back!

Third up is from Triumph, another Canadian rock trio, and their 1981 landmark hit album 'Allied Forces'! Triumph had been around since the mid 70s, but this is the album that broke the band into the big time. Featuring the hits "Magic Power", "Fight the Good Fight", and the title track, it's an album jam-packed with heavy guitars, sweet harmony melodies, and introspective lyrics!

Last we have Pat Travers' Black Pearl, and their debut album from 1982, and celebrating its FORTIETH birthday this year! The album is considered either a Pat Travers solo album, or a new band called Pat Travers' Black Pearl. His label did not even want to release this record, but Travers sued, and won! There was only one hit, and that is the track "I La La La Love You" which saw a bit of mainstream success. It was featured in the early Nicolas Cage 80s movie 'Valley Girl'. Pat Travers is the THIRD Canadian artist or band in today's listing. ( Lol Yes, we love Canadian rockers!)

Each album comes in its original outer jacket. Three records also have their original inner sleeves. (Only Pat Travers comes in a generic white inner sleeve.) The vinyl LPs all look pretty good, with only a few light surface marks that I can see. I haven't had a chance to play test these records, but I can, if anyone needs me to. Vinyl LPs are all the rage these days, and though new remastered releases are great, especially with 180-220 gram vinyl versions and all, it's hard to beat the originals. Long live the 80s! Heavy metal and hard rock rules!!
