GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Note : musiche composte e dirette da Antonino Riccardo Luciani. Assai meglio di me parlano le note del retrocopertina che accorcio : " omissis....Nei brani contenuti nel lato A, l'Autore ha inteso rappresentare immagini di movimento dove una ritmica sempre presente assicura una costante vivacità espressiva mentre nel lato B i caratteri descrittivi sono resi più statici e contemplativi.....omissis".  Dunque due differenti concezioni musicali : nella primo lato sonorità dai ritmi frenetici, nel secondo belle melodie principalmente ispirate a temi folk.  Tra i brani della prima facciata improntati a ritmo frenetico : " AUTOSTRADA " basata su vorticosi e talvolta distorti suoni dell'organo inseguita dal basso e dalla batteria, " RITMANDO IN VOLO " con interventi di chitarra elettrica abbastanza acida accompagnata dall'organo, " ROUND AND ROUND " in ambedue le versioni; qust'ultime hanno in comune l'ossessivo fraseggio della batteria, l'organo domina nella prima mentre la seconda versione è guidata da un fantastico sax tenore. Sul secondo lato : " CAMPAGNA UMBRA " un suggestivo arioso tema guidato dalla spinetta e dal violoncello con buona presenza della chitarra, " VENDEMMIA " gioioso tema folk con ancora la chitarra in evidenza, " PERIFERIA " struggente ballata malinconica condotta dal pianoforte.

Better than me the liner notes on the back cover speak for themselves, resumed as follows : " omission...on the tracks of the first side the composer intends to depict running images where the steady presence of hectic rhythmics ensures an expressive liveliness while on the second side the descriptive themes are more static and complentative....omission ". So two different music conceptions : fast and well-rhythmic sonorities on the first five tunes, the others are fine melodies mainly based on folk themes. Among the frenetic rhythms on 1st side :  " AUTOSTRADA " characterized by the whirling organ sound, sometimes with distortions, and by the accompaniment of bass and drums, " RITMANDO IN VOLO " with a rather fuzzy electric guitar and the presence of the organ, " ROUND AND ROUND " on both versions; they have in common an obsessive drumming, organ sound in great prominence on the first while the second is led by an exciting tenor sax.  Among the tracks on 2nd side : " CAMPAGNA UMBRA " a seductive airy theme led by harpsichord and cello with the presence of an excellent guitar, " VENDEMMIA " a blithe folk tune with the guitar on fine display, " PERIFERIA " an evocative melancholy ballad led by the piano.
