A SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS. Pink Floyd LP 1968. Blue Columbia label. MONO SX6258 first pressing
This album has been in my collection since I bought it on its release in 1968 and has never been heavily played. SX6258. The matrix numbers are: Side 1 - XAX 3633-1 (with 'P'); Side 2 - XAX 3634-1 (with 'H').
This album has been well cared for, like all my albums. The cover is excellent, with some light wear on the spine and corners, but you'll see from the photos that it is in excellent condition and all print is legible, even on the spine. You'll also see from the photo that there is some slight damage along the bottom fold on the back of the cover. The only marking is next to the title of the track 'A Saucerful of Secrets' where I wrote 11.50 - obviously the length of the track. (I suppose it was important to me at the time). The mark is faint and barely visible. The inner sleeve, which I assume is the original, is also excellent.
The record looks excellent and still has a bright sheen. The labels on both sides are in excellent condition except for some scratching on Side 1 which you can see in the photograph. On the record there are some light surface marks and a few other marks, but they are mostly light feathery marks and are not audible on playing on my system. The Mono sound is powerful and clear. There are no jumps or unplayable sections - it all plays smoothly and clearly. There is very little background noise, except occasionally a little between tracks. The only specific noises are a few light clicks at the start of 'Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun', and a few light clicks and one heavier one at the start of 'A Saucerful of Secrets'.
