A Treasury of Field Recordings Vol 1, Traditional Music and Song. Compiled by Mack McCormick. 77 Records 77LA12-2, an imprint of Dobell's Record Shop in England. 1960. This is the original issue of this record. Field recordings by McCormick, Pete Seeger, John Lomax Jr. and others. Complete with 60 page booklet by McCormick with help from Paul Oliver. Minimum bid $250.

If you are not familiar with McCormick these articles from Texas Monthly, Vanity Fair and The Houston Press will make evident his importance as a pioneering field researcher who has done extensive research on Robert Johnson, Mance Lipscomb, Henry Thomas, Lightnin' Hopkins and more.

There is an open seam split 4" top center, one on the spine several inches, wear along the bottom edge and bumping to all four corners. The vinyl is quite nice but not perfect. There are a few loud pops the first part of the B side. The white spots in the photos are reflected light and are not present on the actual sleeve which is one of those thin, shiny European ones. Also, where "Field Fecordings" looks to be cut off on the front cover, that is at the edge of the photograph and the words are all there on the cover.
