Description

A very rare mix up. A Climax Disc Record label on a Columbia Record. 1901-02. Announced as a Columbia record???

In Columbia's earliest days there were cylinders and discs. Columbia was free to make cylinders, but the disc market was one in which they could not partake. Each type of Record had a different announcement. Here we have the wrong announcement for the wrong record.

Through some fun actions with the Burt Company in Milburn NJ they created a ghost company called The Globe Record Company to make their disc records.. These recordings for the most part were totally illegal, till they had some patent protection. This patent protection would not happen until the end of 1901, with the Jones patent for wax recording.

Climax Records are among the rarest of the early discs. Far rarer than Berliner Discs. This one is most uniqueRecord??  This record is excellent condition for its age. Has some stamping  marks that dont sound. Listen to the record.

As with all my records it will be carefully packed in a new box
