A rarely found only album release from the 1966 midlands formed band
that included Simon Kirke and Paul Kossoff in its original
line-up, both of whom went on to form the legendary band FREE.
Album line-up :
Dave Skillin - vocals
Stan Aldous - bass guitar
Steve Milliner - organ/piano
Frank Clark - percussion
Nicely Heavy Organ-led Progressive Vibes Throughout !!
Such a great ( but highly under-rated ) album, I dearly wish it was
in better condition - so here's the bad news :
Visually - both sides have an abundance of lines, marks and light scratches,
over all tracks, mainly through poor handling and storing, though some
are probably stylus caused.
Audio quality - Side 1: All tracks have crackles with the occasional
clicking here and there, in varying degrees of volume. Track 5 has a
sticking point a couple of minutes in, and again near the end.
Side 2 : All tracks have some clicks and crackles, a bit lighter than on
side 1 though. There is a sticking point towards the end of track 1. The next
track is better and then track 3 is an absolute delight.
Overall the sound impairment in my opinion, is not enough to detract from
being able to indulge and enjoy the brilliance of this album, however should
you bid and win but subsequently disagree, I will happily refund you !
The front-side laminated cover sleeve is clean and clear, some creasing
here and there, and a slight warping over 3" on the open edge, spine is
good, there is no grafitti, no splits, tears, holes etc. Plain white poly-lined
paper inner is all good.
Both disc labels are clean, bright, undamaged, and with just a moderate
amount of spindle wear/marking.
