Description
This is a vintage ABBA promo 45. FERNANDO Mono/Stereo PROMO 45 (white label Atlantic 45-3346) 1976.
It includes an Atlantic sleeve in fairly nice shape. I think I got it in a generic sleeve.
Unlike most promos, this is a VERY sparsely labelled version that is rare. I've had it for years and never played it. It only has a neatly written number in a circle in pen on the STEREO side. The 45 looks like it was not tossed around and handled more gently than many radio station promos.
NOW, when I played it the STEREO side started off wanting to jump ahead a little on my go-to turntable. On my linear one it plays fine (as most records will since it is hard to make anything skip on it). It is hard to see anything causing it. I see a tiny spot I tried cleaning. But, that is maybe where the two louder tics are. No matter what, you hear a few light tics and then two louder ones in the rather quiet intro.
So, the record looks nice. MONO side plays EX with only a few LIGHT tics in the fade-out.
UPDATE: Read about adjusting the tonearm and it does not want to jump/skate ahead now. Hooray! Tried it on another (Roxy Music promo) that was doing a similar thing and it stopped, too!!!
From DISCOGS: Black and white label mono/stereo promo with no Atlantic logo and very simple/minimal text layout saying "Title: Fernando" at top and "Artist: Abba" at bottom. There is no promotion text on labels, but it is clearly a promo release.

These singles were called ADVANCE PROMO PREVIEW copies, for the Atlantic distributilon branch staffs around the country, to hype up the company personel. They are the earliest of promo/1st pressings as they were issued prior to the regular Promo copies with the normal Atlantic logo/credits.
