ABNER JAY "THE BACKBONE OF AMERICA IS A MULE AND COTTON" LP!!!!!! SUPER-RARE OUTSIDER FOLK/BLUES ONE MAN BAND!!!!!
Here we have an LP by one-man-band folksinger extraordinaire ABNER JAY, on Brandie Records (SoN 122161). A cause celebre of late thanks to some reissues on the vaunted MISSISSIPPI RECORDS label, the late Mr. Jay here does his remarkable basso renditions of spiritual and traditional songs (or, as the cover puts it: "This Is Real Show Nough Bicentennial Music"). The LP looks VG to VG- (some scuffs, for sure), but it sounds VG+, leading me to believe that they're just surface scuffs and nothing to worry about from a listening standpoint. The sleeve is VG, as well (significant edge wear). So: not the best copy in existence, probably, but then again, there really aren't that many, and it sounds great.
