I recently purchased a stunning collection of AC/DC albums and four of them I am listing for this auction. They have all been preserved so well.
This first pressing is stunning in every way! The audio is as clean and powerful as it would have been when first released - the clarity and definition is incredible and it is patently obvious it has hardly been played. There are still some vinyl 'flecks' around the spindle hole to further back up this theory and visually the vinyl is stunning also. This is without doubt a FINAL UPGRADE archive classic because it could hardly play any better and the only 'real' background are a couple of very quiet brief static sounds on the 'Hells Bells' intro.
The iconic embossed cover is in lovely condition and we all know how rare that is! So susceptible to wear this one has been so well preserved and the printed inner sleeve is almost 'as new' also. This first pressing has the A1 / B1 matrix and has 'Made in UK' directly below the 33.3 RPM speed on the labels. There is also a different track order on the back cover, on the labels it is correct.

Visual description
The vinyl is in beautiful condition lovely condition and still has an immaculate jet-black glossy sheen with no marks or scratches. Even when I look I look under a bright light it is difficult to locate any hairlines! A small number of ultra faint ones but yes so so faint! There is obviously no groove or surface wear and the Atlantic labels are pristine with barely any spindle wear and as stated there is still some vinyl 'flecking' around both spindle holes.
Play Grading
The run in on S1 is so clean and the tolling bell intro on 'Hells Bells' has a couple of very brief static 'moments' but otherwise plays with great clarity. As Young comes in the audio is superb and remainder of this intro is 'as new'. The depth of sound is out of this world. Johnson's opening vocal section is equal to that as is the first chorus. The instrumental bridge and following vocal keep up the standard and the instrumental plays to perfection. Stunning production! To the end it plays with sublime quality - so the first few seconds are Ex but it has to grade as Mint from then on. Incidentally there is a click in the dead wax right after. 'Shoot To Thrill' has a couple of very quiet statics on the intro and the opening vocal is flawless. It continues to play with great power and depth and there is no background to be heard. The quieter section with Rudd at the helm is a fine example of that, there is not one dust tick let alone anything worse. The high octane finish is stunning and this classic track has to grade as Mint- at the very least.
'What Do You Do For Money Honey' once again shows how infrequently this record has been played and just how well it has been looked after. You can see why they went for Johnson, settled in perfectly. Every vocal and instrumental play with supreme quality and I only picked up a couple of light statics in the middle section. A powerhouse of a track (no surprise there!) with zero distortion and Mint- is fair.
Another superb intro on 'Givin The Dog A Bone' and the first vocal and chorus more than match it. From then on it plays with impeccable quality and no background. Obviously it has to be turned up to max and by doing that you lose nothing sonically. Phenomenal power, depth and resonance all the way through. Mint
'Let Me Put My Love Into You' ends the side with very clean, powerful audio once more. For a final track the sonic quality is very impressive - you're always looking out for distortion on final tracks but there is barely any here. Perhaps a minimal amount towards the end but nothing intrusive and Mint- is richly deserved.

The unmistakeable intro 'Back In Black' is nigh on perfect with only 3/4 barely audible statics and Johnson's opening vocal section is exactly that, perfect. From then on this classic plays with sensational power and depth and the mid instrumental is STUNNING! The closing vocal / instrumental is equally as strong and the fade out has no background. This is easily a Mint- version.
The intro on 'You Shook Me All Night Long' has just two super quiet static sounds and the first vocal / chorus can only be described 'as new'. From then onwards the audio is comparable to an unplayed record - the clarity and depth is first class and Mint- is again deserved.
'Have A Drink On Me' is easy to grade. Quite simply it plays with stunning precision from the first note to the last and is sonically as strong as the day when first released. Mint
'Shake A Leg' is of the same standard with no intrusion whatsoever. No distortion either and you know the grade. Mint
The low key intro on 'Rock And Roll Ain't Noise Pollution' plays beautifully without any background - that's a measure of the clarity on offer here. As the volume increases there is no drop in quality and the opening vocal / chorus keep up the standard. It continues to play with great power and definition and for a final track the sound quality is superb. There is no discernible distortion aside from a minimal amount towards the end maybe but that is just me being super critical. It has to be the finest version I have ever heard. A Mint- conclusion.
The Embossed Cover & Printed Inner Sleeve
The embossed cover is so prone to wear but this one has to be the cleanest example I have ever seen. Only the bottom edge has some light rubbing and the top edge and spine are in fantastic condition. The corners are exceptionally clean also with hardly any wear and the opening edge is pristine. The only issue with the front cover is a small number of fingerprint type marks but it's difficult to escape them really and the back cover is very similar with just one small surface rub near the top edge. It's very close to Near Mint- in my opinion but I'll say Ex+ just to err on the side of caution.
The inner sleeve is practically 'as new' with just one tiny blemish and a couple of minor corner rubs. Nothing else to report apart from a minimal amount of ringwear.

Postage & Packaging
I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
