AC/DC ~ Back In Black LP RARE New Zealand-only cover
Albert APLP-046 <> BLUE Lettering & SILVER Album Title
AC/DC – Back In Black LP (orig. New Zealand STEREO Albert APLP-046—1981, inner sleeve)
Recorded: April-May 1980 ~ NZ second issue release date: 1981 (NZ first issue: August 1980). Running time: 41:50 (approx).
On offer here is an EXTREMELY RARE NEW ZEALAND second issue of AC/DC's “BACK IN BLACK” album. This was AC/DC's first LP release after BON SCOTT's untimely death on 20 February 1980. During the second half of 1981, EMI New Zealand reissued several AC/DC albums. This particular copy was issued as part of that series, and has PALE BLUE LETTERING on the front & back cover, except for the Album Title that appears in SILVER LETTERING. I have not seen another copy like this in over 20 years of collecting AC/DC records. The other unusual feature is that the song titles on the back cover are listed in the wrong order!
“Back In Black” features BRIAN JOHNSON on lead vocals, and the singles “You Shook Me All Night Long” and “Rock And Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution”.
