This is a 1976 UK 1st Press Picture Sleeve 7" Single. These are extremely rare! This was kind of an introductory AC/DC 7" single to the UK market. Both tracks are from the UK "High Voltage" LP from the same year. This Picture Sleeve was extremely limited at the time. It was issued only once and has the (October to November 1976) AC/DC UK Tour Dates printed on the rear sleeve. As  stated, this single is extremely rare and seldom turns up for sale! The Picture Sleeve is in very nice & clean condition. Hard to find like this!

However, there is an issue with the vinyl. It seems to be a manufacturing issue at the time. There is a small hairline surface mark, at the outer edge of the disc - in the play-in grooves, that causes some more moderate clicks predominately at the very start of the B-side. (Please see below for a more thorough description).

The Picture Sleeve is printed on thick matte card. It is top opening. There is a small die-cut area on the top opening edge on the rear sleeve only. As stated, the AC/DC 1976 UK Tour Dates are printed on the rear sleeve too. These are from 17th October (Southampton) to 27th November (Oxford).

The record is pressed on thick vinyl and has green & orange "Atlantic" paper labels. The labels have a solid centre. The record has 1st press K10860 A1 and K10860 B1 matrix numbers. These are machine stamped in the dead wax, "A Porky Prime Cut" and "Pecko" are machine etched in the dead wax on the A-side and B-side respectively. 

As stated, this UK Picture Sleeve 7" Single was extremely limited in the UK back in 1976. Therefore, it is extremely difficult to find in the UK. It is one of the top AC/DC UK rarities. Don't miss out!

Sleeve: There is light or very minor overall fading to the sleeve. This is not too noticeable under a strong light. There is some light, very mild or very minor rubbing wear on the top opening edges on a few areas. Again, this is not too noticeable. There are about 7 small and light, or very minor, hairline creases in total across both sides of the picture sleeve. Some of the creases are hardly really noticeable under a strong light. None of the creases go through both sides of the sleeve. They measure from 1 cm to 2.5 cm in length. There is some light, very mild or very minor ringwear on some areas. There are no seam splits. Overall, Very Good++ condition.

This sleeve is not too far from being in Near Excellent condition. They are extremely hard to find in this nice & clean condition.

Vinyl: Unfortunately, as stated, there is a more moderate 3 cm hairline mark at the outer edge of the disc (see photo). This is mainly on the play-in grooves. This mark affects both sides of the disc on the play-in grooves. But much less so on the A-side. It is possible that it might be a sight hairline crack mark, that is not too deep, that mainly affects the outer edge of the B-side. Also, it only really causes some issues when playing the B-side

This 3 cm hairline mark feels to the touch, especially on the B-side, much less so on the A-side. It seems to me to have probably been a pressing fault at the factory at the time. This mark does cause a brief issue with playback. This is primarily  on the B-side. It causes about 6 more moderate to moderate intermittent clicks. These clicks are mainly on the dead wax play-in groove, and only into the very start of the B-side. The clicks do not last long. However, it does not jump on my system. Fortunately, the hairline mark doesn't seem to affect the A-side that much. (Please see below for a thorough playback description).

Otherwise, there are three small fingertip sized areas of more moderate, or moderate, surface rub marks on the A-side. There is a very mild 1.5 cm  hairline surface mark at the start of the A-side. There is a very light 1.5 cm hairline surface mark on the A-side. This is not that noticeable under a strong light. There is a mild 3 cm surface rub mark at the start of the A-side too. There are some light, mild, very mild or very minor sleeve rubs which can hardly be seen under a strong light.

Visually, without the mark, the vinyl looks somewhere between Very Good to Very Good+ condition. However, because of the small 3 cm hairline mark, or hairline crack, at the outer edge of the disc. Overall, Fair+ condition. The labels are in Near Excellent condition and show mild or very mild spindle wear only.

I have play tested this single in its entirety. The aforementioned hairline mark at the outer edge of the disc causes some issues with playback. This is really only on the B-side. So I have playback graded the B-side first,

The B-side has approximately 6 more moderate, or moderate, intermittent clicks at the very start of the side. About two of these clicks are at the very start of the track "Live Wire". However, it doesn't actually jump on my system. But please be aware, that it could possibly jump on a different system. So please bear this in mind. Apart from the clicks at the start of the B-side. The rest of the B-side plays Very Good+ to Near Excellent overall. There is some light, very mild or very minor crackle in a few quieter places.

The A-side plays Near Excellent to Excellent overall. There are a couple of mild clicks at the very start of the A-side. This is on the play-in grooves. There are no clicks on the actual track. Otherwise, there is just light, very mild or very minor crackle in a few quieter places.

I shall place the vinyl into a separate plain paper sleeve. This will protect the original picture sleeve from any damage during the shipping process.

  >>  Grading Information All grading is very strict & adheres to 'Record Collector' specifications. However, I have fine tuned them & they are explained below. All vinyl is examined closely under a strong light & play tested.

MINT Condition = A perfect copy! Almost impossible to find like this. 

NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, There may be a very few, very light paper surface sleeve rubs that can hardly be seen under strong light. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. The sleeve is virtually perfect - there is very minimal wear only.

EXCELLENT Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows minimal defects. There will be light, very mild or very minor surface sleeve rubs. There will be no scratches. The cover will be very nice & clean with maybe minimal creasing, ringwear or edge rubbing wear etc...

NEAR EXCELLENT Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times, but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only. The sleeve may have light, mild or very mild creasing,ringwear & very mild rubbing wear to the edges etc.... Overall, it will be a very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.

Very Good Condition = A well played but very decent overall copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears etc... The record will not be trashed!!

Please note that I also use "+" or "-" symbols for this grading. A plus symbol is obviously at the top end of "Very Good" & is really not far from being in "near excellent" condition. The minus symbol obviously means it is at the lower end. This will mean that it is near to being in "Good+" condition.

For any items over 150 Euros in value. There will be a customs charge too. These vary, I believe, from country to country. Please check your relevant postal service online for details. All records will be sent in high quality vinyl box/ mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7" Single. I use a cruciform box for larger orders (3-6 LPs). All parcels will be marked "Fragile" and dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment.

I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve & place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve; I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP(s).

I consider my postage & packaging costs to be very transparent & very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between £0.80 to £1.50. I am not adding any further costs for handling, etc...
