AC/DC 'Japan Tour '81' Picture Disc Cool Collectible With 'Rolling Stone' Mag

In 1981, Japan released a special limited edition 12" picture disc to promote AC/DC's early 80s Japanese tour. Those original first copies are identified by the numbers on the back, and the color of the rim. And they can go for several hundred dollars! Some years later (exact date unknown), another couple of versions of this picture disc was released in the UK. I believe there's a total of four versions, and again, identifiable by the numbers on the back, and the color of the rim. Up for grabs today is a third version copy, PS 180, with a black rim. The A side is a great shot of Angus Young, with smaller pics of the other band members. The B side is nearly identical to the back of the 'If You Want Blood You Got It' album, but here, Angus is bathed in an eerie red glow.

The vinyl itself looks pretty good, and is mostly shiny and clean. I can only see a couple of very, very light surface marks on it. Nothing bad, hardly noticable, and no scratches, gouges, or scuffs. The only flaw is a few spots on the rim that got covered with a black marker. The friend I bought this from said he noticed some flaking, so he grabbed a marker and went to town. This is only noticeable up close, and appears to be only on the rim itself. No matter what's on here, and how it sounds, it's a great AC/DC collectible!

I'll even add the Nov. 13, 2008 issue of 'Rolling Stone' magazine, with Brian, Angus, and Malcom on the cover! With a really interesting cover story inside, and lots of pics. This is in really good condition, with no pages torn or ripped out, and no pages dog-eared or with handwriting on it. All I see is a tiny amount of shelf-wear on the corners and spine. It's been read several times, but taken care of. And it's awesome that they feature Malcom on the cover!

Bring home some AC/DC today, with the third version of the 'Japan Tour '81' picture disc, in really good shape, and a AC/DC cover story magazine, from 2008. (Was that the first time those guys made the cover of 'Rolling Stone'? I know it took Kiss and Ozzy many, many years...) AC/DC has made some incredible music through the years, and are still going strong, over a half a century later! And we still miss both Bon Scott and Malcom Young, who both contributed considerably to the AC/DC legacy.
