Another from my personal collection of records that I have accumulated over a period of more than 45 years. This is an original 1st UK pressing 1978 ACDC Powerage Looks totally unplayed condition. This was pre ordered and purchased by me from new. I initially only ever played this album one time to record to tape and then it was stored with the vinyl separated from the cover and sleeve for protection. This is how I have always stored my records. As you can see from the photos this looks as good as the day that I purchased it. I have recorded the complete album for you to listen to in the played below! The audio is absolutely stunning crystal clear and vibrant through out! Audio is graded almost as good as it gets Excellent plus to near mint on my systems. The 1st issue Garrod & Lofthouse cover is also in amazing condition very rarely ever seen like this! Powerage is the fifth studio album by Australian hard rock band AC/DC, released on 25 May 1978. It is also AC/DC's fourth international studio album. All songs were written by Angus Young, Malcolm Young and Bon Scott.




It was originally released on Atlantic Records, and reached No. 133 on Billboard's Pop Albums chart in the US, eventually going platinum. Powerage was re-released in 2003 as part of the AC/DC Remasters series.




Powerage is the first AC/DC album to be released nearly simultaneously in both Australian and international markets, and the first to use just one cover image for both. It was also the first to feature the same track listing on all versions, with the exception of the European vinyl edition (specifically, the first UK pressing of the LP). This version included "Cold Hearted Man", a song that was not previously released, and would not be released on any other AC/DC album until 2009's AC/DC Backtracks box set. The song became more widely available through the box set of Bon Scott-era vinyl LP albums in 1981.




Within the 1987 box set, the song was packaged on a single sided 12-inch single. The first UK pressing also includes different mixes than all later versions, most noticeably on "Down Payment Blues" (which excludes the bluesy coda heard on later pressings), "Kicked In The Teeth" (the opening chord was omitted on all other pressings but is present on the UK vinyl version) and "What's Next to the Moon," (which omits solos and backing vocals heard on later pressings.)




 In some territories, Powerage omitted "Rock 'n' Roll Damnation". This was due to a rushed job in getting the LP to pressing plants in time for the release date, hence "Rock 'n' Roll Damnation" (which was not yet completed) was omitted, "Cold Hearted Man" was added, and the rushed mixes are different from the 'finished' mixes that were thereafter used.





It was the band's last Bon Scott-era studio release to feature production work by Harry Vanda and George Young.






Powerage marked the studio debut of bassist Cliff Williams. Former bassist Mark Evans says that the album also has bass by him, as the Powerage songs started being done during the recording of his last album Let There Be Rock, and producer George Young, while Williams was having trouble on getting his work visa

The Vinyl

 
The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of any warps and looks like new condition. I can't even see a blemish on the playing surface what so ever!
 Any marks that possibly could be seen in strong light would be light wyspy sleeve removal type but too be honest I can't see any at all! importantly no audio sounding marks or needle marks that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops even static ticks that I heard at all!

The Audio Quality

I have played this track for track at very, very loud volume prior to listing at very loud volume. From the moment that the needle hits the playing surface , it is obvious that this vinyl not only visually but audibly has only ever been played one time before ever! The audio is stunning cristal clear and vibrant, very bright and clear throughout without any signs of distortion at all and plays with a lovely deep bassey feel only found like this on early pressings! Amaizingly, even in between tracks this is nice and silent very very rare copy like this! I would grade the audio at least  Near as mint as I could possibly hope in my opinion! An Audio Archive copy Never Need To Upgrade!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer. Please allow for minor isolated static/ticks perhaps heard in very isolated quiet places only,, but nothing constant throughout the audio. Please remember that this vinyl is an original 34 years old and would have been originally played on a 34 year old system.
Points to note! This album has been stored in a case laying dormant for over  34 years or more. A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes stat ticks/crackle.  A constant clean before each play is highly recommended. This will reduce any static and enhance the audio quality.  It is noted that I saw debrit left on the playing surface after play, indicating this will need further cleaning.. ((To be honest I never hear any major problems perhaps very minor static ticks to mention at the intro only!))

The Labels

These are the original black ATLANTIC labels There's not much to say but these are like new in my opinion. No visable signs of play no wear no spindle marks that I can see at all! The spindle hole is free of any wear and of course is perfectly round! There is slight place on the rim of the label, side one and very slightly on side two, that has obviously slightly stuck to the sleeve at some point and some paint is missing see photos. but nothing too drastic in my opinion and was like this from new.

The Record Sleeve

This is the original plain white paper sleeve no splits or tears very clean indeed.

The Cover

This Is The Original early 1st issue/ 1st UK Press un laminated  Garrod & Lofthouse UK cover in absolutely tip top superb stunning tip top condition! These are almost impossible to keep in perfect condition like this! No real rubbing wear at all, Even the spine shows no real signs of crushing to mention and no real rubbing wear that is often seen. Amazingly  no ring wear on the front or rear,, very very rare like this. The vinyl has always been stored in a case separated from the cover which has protected this for nearly 34 years! Any indents or marks or half moon creases  that may be noticed only if looked for in my opinion. This cover is graded at least excellent plus to Very Near Mint the best that you could find in my opinion.
