The record we are offering here is a guaranteed original pressing of this very hard to find private psych album by HOOTCH. This LP was released in 1974 and has a plain back cover. Oddly, the origin of this record is a Wisconsin high school project by a bunch of kids who had the right idea!

This LP was reviewed favorably by Patrick Lundbourg on page 153 of “ACID ARCHIVES THE SECOND EDITION”.

Lundbourg writes about this album, “for a bunch of teenagers the vibe is mature and strangely subdued, making for an unusual atmosphere that has contributed to its generally high rating among private press specialists. There are two good vocal cuts, while the rest is laid back snaky guitar jam instrumentals with a slightly eerie vibe, like portions out of a really weird Grateful Dead concert. Hootch maintain their inscrutable late-night vibe throughout, and in toto this is a vital trip into classic 70’s local idiosyncrasy, far removed from anything you’ll find on a major release”.

COVER: The cover is in EX condition and still has the original shrink wrap plastic on it. Consequently, because of the age of the plastic it has shrunk a bit and caused some curling along the right edge and especially in the bottom right corner. The shrink wrap is in good condition with one tear in the plastic along the bottom left edge. The cover has just a bit of light wear under the shrink wrap along the bottom edge and right corner. This is overall a great looking cover.

VINYL: We carefully cleaned this record on a VPI Machine. It grades a strong VG+ due to a bit of cosmetic surface marking and a few light scuffs. The vinyl still has much of its original luster. There are no markings that can be felt on the grooves and it plays well.
