Description

ADAM & The ANTS. 1980 LP 'Kings Of The Wild Frontier.' Sleeve Hand SIGNED by ADAM ANT. FINE Condition & Signature.
Adam and the Ants were an English new wave band active in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The group lasted from 1977 to 1982 and existed in two incarnations, both fronted by Adam Ant. The first, founded May 1977, achieved considerable cult popularity during the transition from punk to new wave and were noted for their high camp and overtly sexualised performances and songs. The second incarnation featured guitarist/composer Marco Pirroni and drummer/producer Chris Hughes. It lasted from February 1980 to March 1982 and achieved major commercial success in the UK and abroad, including this album which was the UK number best selling album in 1981 and won Best British Album at the 1982 Brit Awards. It also spawned three hit singles - Kings of the Wild Frontier, which was reached No. 2 in the UK Singles Chart; Dog Eat Dog, which reached No. 4; and Antmusic, which got to No. 2. Ant went on to an intermittently successful solo career despite mental health problems (bi-polar disease.)
