You are bidding on the MINT- CONDITION 1971 LP "Gospel Hard Rock" by Agape on Mark Records, cat.#MRS-2170. "Jesus Rock at it's crustiest" according to Paul Baker in his book Contemporary Christian Music. Ken Scott's book Archivist, 3rd Ed. compares the group to Hendrix, both the music and lead vocalist Fred Caban's singing. States Scott, "not just a three-chord bash-these songs have mood and texture to them. You'll find quiet understated passages here as well as the hard-driving guitar solos. Atmosphere too, as on the eerie "Rejoice" which narrates tribulation prophecies against a panapoly of guitar-induced missles, earthquakes, and whatnot" PLEASE NOTE: This is the second version of the album that was released with individual photos of the band members on back cover and the title "Gospel Hard Rock" which is on the spine. The original had a group shot of the band live. Just want to make sure you know which version you're buying! Songs include Blind/Happy/Believe/Man/Trust/Freedom/Choose/Blood/Rejoice. LP/Cover both in MINT- condition with cover still in shrink wrap. NOTE: This copy came from the same store as the sealed copies we had earlier this year and had been sitting on the shelf in the backstock area for who knows how long (maybe 1971?). Therefore, it's probably only been played once, when we brought it home to give it a test spin! Purchase with confidence.
