AKAI reel to reel recorder 4 channel record / playback, 55-60Hz front and rear microphone inputs with independent right left controls for each, front and rear stereo line inputs, dual VU meters for front and rear channels, stereo 2/4 channel switch, switchable tape speed from 7 1/2 to 3 3/4 - i got this item while helping someone move, i checked all functions on it and they work with exception to actually recording and playing back, i have no knowledge of wether sound records or plays back, i think it uses 4mm tape, but i havent bought the tape nor do i know where to obtain such tape, so i cannot disclose if the sound works on the unit
