Description
I have collected records since I was very young, however Iincreasingly I have realised that I have far too many, and soI have been slowly trying to rationalise my extensive collection over the years, I have sold many major rarities over the years, from major BEATLES and 60s rarities, through PUNK and PROG ROCK, CLASSICAL and BLUES. Basically I've had alot of very rare records and in dribs and drabs have sold them off. I've never had negative feedback, and had many repeat customers. I will only post completely insured and tracked.
This week I'm selling many Beatles/Kinks/Yardbirds Etc. 7" rarities.
Here we have the exceedingly rare ALAN DEAN AND HIS PROBLEMS b/w DIZZY HEIGHTS, the first single by Alan Dean and His Problems, the next and final single was produced by the legendary JOE MEEK PRODUCTIONS, and quite possiby with a very young RICHIE BLACKMORE on guitar!
Firstly I need to say that this is one of my very favourite tracks of the 60s, and if I didn't already have a copy, neither hell nor high water would cause me to part with this record! This is MOD / PROTO FREAKBEAT at it's absolute finest in my opinion! It has beat sensibilities, but that driving riff, and the heavy sounding rhythm section take it in a completely unexpected direction.
"ALAN DEAN AND HIS PROBLEMS" only released 2 singles, so 4 tracks in all, first one on decca here, and then the follow up THUNDER AND RAIN B/W AS TIME GOES BY. Both very interesting records, but for me hand's down this is the more desirable musically!
This copy is a DEMO, and has the very first 1-B/1-B stamper/lacquer codes aswell, so as early as they come! Standard copies of this record come up very rarely, but demos even less so!
But if you haven't heard this track, I really strongly suggest you give it a listen, you won't get it out of your head again though! A relatively unexplored gem!
RECORD CONDITION: VG, an averagely looked after record.Plenty of surface marks and scuffs, though nothing deep, or anything to signifficantly diminish from play, a little bit of crackle on the run-ins etc. No centre. Plays strongly!
RECORD LABELS: VG, Completely free of grafitti/tear/abbrasion,the centre has been taken out carefull, and has avoided tearing any of the label at the 4-prong points. A very slight dullening of the rich blue demo labels, but other than that, very nice indeed! SLEEVE CONDITION: VG+, A nice generally crisp period decca sleeve, the original sleeve it came with, with No writing/stains/nicks/rips, just light general handling. All of the edges are great and crisp with no wear-throughs at all.

The KT tax code it stamped in both Deadwaxes, and also embossed around the central spindle hols of the B-side.
