Description
Here we have a 1962 single from Alan Klein called Three Coins In A Sewer b/w Danger Ahead. This record is one of many produced by the legendary Joe Meek, although his famous RGM Sound credit is not featured on the label. It was not until 1964 when he did a puvblishing deal did all the records he produced have the credit.Up to that point, some did, some didnt. The A side of this record is a comic take on the song Three Coins In A Fountain and legend has it that the sound afect intro was achieved by putting a microphone next to the toilet in the Holloway Road studio, and recording coins being dropped in the pan.The record is in excellent condition with only a few light, mostly hairline type marks and plays through nicely.Alan Klein went on to write and produce the music for What A CRazy World and in 1966 he became lead singer of The New Vaudeville Band of Winchester Cathedral fame.
