Description
1983 Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab UHQR (Ultra High Quality Record) album release for "I, Robot", by THE ALAN PARSONS PROJECT. The UHQR releases from MSFL were all extremely limited pieces, pressed onto 200G vinyl, and produced in Japan as deluxe box sets to hold the albums. Each album came with a certificate of authenticity, and this one is numbered #4839 out of an edition of 5,000 pieces.
The album is not sealed in the original factory shrinkwrap, but includes the lid piece and base for the box (the lid is shown in the picture above), two pieces of foam to protect the record, LP sleeve, inner plastic vinyl protector sleeve, LP, and certificate of authenticity. The record shows some very light scratching on Side 1. The interior sleeve that holds the record has a 4" light crease in the lower left-hand corner, and some very light handling imperfections. The certificate of authenticity shows a 2" light crease and other handling imperfections. The outer box is about a 7 to an 7.5 on a scale of 1-10, with some small scuffs, an area of 'bubbling' in the MFSL logo, an indentation to the left of that logo, and general handling imperfections.
This rare vinyl album was released as a 12" record imported from Japan, and has long been out of print in this format.
