Description
On offer is a hard to find copy of the Australian 60’s magazine - ALBERT SEBASTIAN MAGAZINE No 3 – November 1966. It is sub-titled THE YOUNG ADULTS MAGAZINE. It is ulitimately a music magazine with a bit of fashion + other bits of youth culture.
IT IS A GREAT INSIGHT INTO THE AUSTRALIAN MUSIC SCENE OF THE TIME.
The magazine is approx 20cm X 26cm. It has 64 pages + cover.
In this issue there is 6 page feature on the PURPLE HEARTS. There is a section on each member (Lobby Loyde / Mick Hadley/Bob Dames/Fred Pickard/Tony Cahill) + heaps of pics.
There is a 6 page story (with pics) on RONNIE BURNS who had just left the Flies to go solo. There is also a colour pic on the back cover.
A story on the legendary Aussie TV show GO!
There is a great article titled THE $TARS TALK ABOUT LOVE – it features comments by: THE CHEROKEES (I page) / BOBBY & LAURIE (2 pages with pic) / LYNNE RANDELL / MIKE FURBER / BUDDY ENGLAND / DINAH LEE / KEN SPARKES / THE LOVED ONES (2 pages with pic).
4 pages of great LYNNE RANDELL fashion pics.
Aussie folk singer TREVOR LUCAS features in a two page article.
There’s lots of smaller bits including a one page story on THE BEACH BOYS.
The magazine is in sound condition. At some stage it has been folded which has left a crease up the middle of the front cover. Creasing because of this is evident on 5 or 6 pages. The pages are nice and clean. One page has a small edge tear. The back cover has some small surface creases. There is a little silver fish damage on one edge of the front cover.
Overall a pretty good copy of a very hard to find magazine.
