If you wanna hear Alex at his best, this is the LP! This is a very rare R&B LP from the Scottish legend, and one that was never issued in the UK!
In the early 60’s they became regulars on the club circuit in Hamburg, Germany where they even opened for the Beatles.
In 1964 Polydor records released a live album recorded at the Top 10 Club in Hamburg called ‘Alex Harvey & his Soul Band’ which is a great album featuring some great Blues covers including an early version of “Framed” which was a showstopper later with SAHB.
This is the ORIGINAL German issue – in MONO - and one that rarely comes up for auction. The record has feint ‘paper’ lines and no bad scratches. Cleaned on my vinyl machine it plays fine. The sleeve is better than very good. Slight edge wear and price label on, but NO rips, NO splits, NO writing, NO cut-outs.
This is NOT a reissue released on Karussell in 1968 or on the Brunswick Silver Series…….it’s the original real deal!......a 48-year old album of killer R&B!
