ALEXIS KORNER BLUES INC. : SKY HIGH (Mega Rare and wanted Blues/Prog. privately released LP on Spot Records JW551 in 1965.
This legendary album, supposedly one of only 300 copies pressed, features the following musical luminaries: Duffy Powers (Harp/Vocal); Alan Skidmore (Tenor); Chris Pyne (Trombone); Danny Thompson (Bass); Terry Cox (Drums); Alexis Korner (Electric Guitar and Vocal).
Thompson and Cox were later to form the legendary Pentangle in 1967.
15 tracks of Progressive contemporary Blues, this album has long been one of the Holy Grail of collectable UK releases. Composers of tracks include: Alexis Korner; Duffy Powers; plus covers of Charles Mingus and Percy Mayfield amongst others.
Front cover is a very strong Mint Minus, lamination is in perfect condition; flipback sleeve.
Back cover also a very strong Mint Minus, slight yellowing with age but in my opinion, absolutely fantastic condition.
Record is also a very strong Mint Minus, a fantastic bright yellow label and very few obvious signs of having been played often.
Record is Mono.
