UK Straight labels. STS 1061. (1970) Sleeve: EX. Vinyl: EX+. Labels: Near Mint
Gatefold sleeve: Printed and made by the E. J. Day Group. London and Bedford.
Manufactured and distributed by CBS. So very hard to find as a UK original!
Gatefold E.J. Day Group sleeve grades strict EX. Very slight edge wear in places. Spine text is 98% visible. Very slight corner dings and spine wear top and bottom, but this is very minimal and really should not be an issue given the usual condition these are found in. Evidence of some very neat 'colour-matched' touching in a couple of places (see photos - looks like acrylic paint, not felt tip) but really nothing to detract from this otherwise super cover. The top edge of the rear gatefold shows very slight evidence of a repair. This has been done very professionally from the looks of things and hardly notices at all. (See photos). No seam splits are evident. Spine is clear. No creases to speak of. No writing. No sticker removal marks. No rips. Just the usual light handling wear. Only a trace of ring wear on the reverse side of the gatefold appearing at the top and bottom. Front shows some loss of colour along the top. A couple of lightly dinged corners - all to be expected. As every one who collects these Straight LP's discovers, the covers are impossible to find in Near Mint or even Mint condition - they were so prone to colour loss, fade and rub due to their fragility and solid printed colours.
Inside gatefold is in remarkable condition. Nothing really to report here other than some evident scuffing/rubbing along the top where the impression of the vinyl goes. This UK gatefold sleeve is a very respectable EXCELLENT.
The STRAIGHT labels are immaculate... EX+ to Near Mint. Vinyl shows only slight hairline wisps from inner sleeve removal. I doubt this record was played more than just a few times. No flaws on playback. Audio is crisp and clear. Vinyl grades EX+/EX++
