Description
I have been an obsessive collector of vinyl LP's and singles for many years, and from the very first I have always been very careful about the condition of the records I have bought. Once in my posession the records have been well stored and always very carefully handled. If the records have been played at all, it has always been on a good quality hi - fi system, the deck being a Linn LP12 deck with a top of the range arm and cartridge.
As a result, most of the many thousands of items in my collection are in excellent condition or better.
Now, in order to create more space at home, I have decided to cut the collection back to a core of my personal favourite artistes, and to dispose of the remainder. These I intend to list for auction over the coming months.
For auction here is a totally original UK copy of the extremely rare, private pressing, vinyl LP called 'All sorts of Folk', number 'CH103', a pressing dating from 1972. This recording was of the performance of an all female folk group at a english private school.
This copy is with its original un-laminated sleeve which has some minor age toning and some minimal ringwear marks to top front and top rear, and four very small black marks to rear, but this is being very picky (see my pictures). Considering the cover is predominantly white with large blank areas and that it isn't protected by lamination, I'd say it was an excellent example. It has its original red, 'mono', plastic lined, inner sleeve which has some creasing and age toning and some visible breakthrough of the glue securing the inner plastic bag visible on the outside as darker blobs (as usual).
The vinyl is bright and clean with the only fault being one long cosmetic scuff on one side visible under edgewise lighting. This doesn't register on my Linn as an audible sound. It has some light surface noise and this may well be due to dust and static and it would probably benefit from a clean, which I am happy to do if any prospective buyer wishes me to put it through my record cleaner. It has really nice clean blue labels with only the barest of light marks around the spindle hole. but no other visible signs of the LP having seen any major use.
This is an exceptionally rare album - try Googling it and see how far you get!! I found a record of it on a japanese website specialising in lisitng extremely rare folk private pressings. On this website it carries one of the highest 'rarity' ratings of any of the listed albums.
