Near mint condition.
"A cornerstone in the world of resonant frequencies. Performed by Lucier on recorded voice, tape machines, delay. In this fascinating exploration of acoustical phenomena, Alvin Lucier slips from the domain of language to that of music in the course of 40 minutes and 32 repetitions of a simple paragraph of text. In I am sitting in a room, several sentences of recorded speech are simultaneously played back into a room and re-recorded there many times. As the repetitive process continues, those sounds common to the original spoken statement and those implied by the structural dimensions of the room are reinforced. The others are gradually eliminated. The space acts as a filter; the speech is transformed into pure sound. All the recorded segments are spliced together in the order in which they were made and constitute the work."

Grading
I've done my best to grade by the Record Collector grading standard as follows:
MINT (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
Payment
Paypal preferred; I will aim to send a Paypal invoice shortly after the end of the auction. I can also accept a cheque drawn on a UK bank or, if you want to risk it, cash in pounds sterling or euro, sent by registered post. Sorry, but I won't accept bank transfers.
Postage & Packing
Records will be removed from the outer sleeve to avoid seam splits and packed carefully in new cruciform-style mailers with stiffeners. Rates as follows:
UK by 1st Class post - GBP2.50 for 1st LP or 12" plus GBP1.00 each additional.
Europe by Air - GBP3.50 for 1st LP or 12" plus GBP1.50 each additional.
Rest of World by Air - GBP6.00 for 1st LP or 12" plus GBP2.50 each additional.
Double albums count as 2 LPs.
