Up for bids is a rare original Mono Jazz LP by Bud Powell called "Time Waits - The Amazing Bud Powell Volume 4" on Blue Note Records. BLP 1598. 1959.
RARE ORIGINAL 1ST PRESSING WITH "47 West 63rd St., New York 23" ON BACK OF COVER'S BOTTOM-CENTER, AND WITH "47 WEST 63rd ? NYC" ON BOTH LABELS!
DEEP GROOVE PRESSING!
Record's edges are raised.
Both labels do NOT have the "?" symbol!
Front of cover is laminated.
Matrix (or trail-off) numbers have a stamped "RVG" followed by the "EAR" then an etched "BN-LP-1598-A" and finally an etched "9 M" for Side 1, and a stamped "RVG" followed by an etched "BN-LP-1598-B" then the "EAR" and finally an etched "9 M" for Side 2.
The grades I use are Mint (rarely used grade), Near Mint, VG+++ (rarely used grade), VG++, VG+, VG, VG Minus, Good+, Good, Fair and Poor.
Cover is in VG condition. There is some wear on front and back. Back of cover has some light staining around the edges. Top of cover, next to spine has some fraying. Botton corner at opening has a minor crease and a 1 7/8" split. Spine is mostly all intact with some minor fraying at the top, bottom and the middle of the word "AMAZING". Still a real strong, sturdy and nice looking cover!
I would rate the record’s condition as a STRONG VG+ to VG++. Has some minor marks that don't greatly affect play. Record still sounds great on my player; like a classic Blue Note should!
May make a great gift for any Bud Powell or Jazz LP fan!
