Description
This is a magnificent double LP. It's a UK stereo pressing of 'Dance of the Lemmings' by the grat German psych band Amon Duul II from 1971. The record is pressed on the United Artists label. The catalogue number is UAD 60003/4. The music is stunning and incorporates all aspects of progressive, psychedelic, jazz, blues, electronic and classical influences. It's a close call between this and Yeti as to which is Amon Duul II's best album, in my opinion. This is an essential album for all serious collectors of quality music.
OUTER SLEEVE - The gatefold sleeve which is laminated on the outside is in lovely condition with some very minor wear and creasing. The top and bottom edges show almnost no wear and the spine is in superb condition with virtually no wear. The wording along the spine is 100% readable. The inner portion of the gatefold sleeve is in great condition with almost no wear or marks. It states on the rear of the sleeve - 'Printed and made by the E.J. Day Group, London and Bedford'. I've graded the sleeve Ex++.
INNER SLEEVES - These are both United Artists UK company paper types which are light tan coloured. It states at the bottom of each inner sleeve on both sides - 'UNITED ARTISTS RECORDS LONDON ENGLAND'. I've graded the two inner sleeves Ex/Ex.
RECORDS - These are in superb condition and there are some very minor surface marks on all 4 sides which result in slight surface noise. There are occasional pops and clicks, especially at the start of side one but there are definitely no jumps or skips on any of the 4 sides. The labels which are the original United Artists type with black wording and the UA brown logo. They are in fine condition. There are some very minor spindle marks on all 4 labels. It states on all 4 labels - 'Produced by Olaf Kubler & Amon Duul II'. The ctalogue numbers (UAD 60003 and UAD 60004) are printed respectively on the right side of each label and underneath these are printed additional catalogue numbers (LBS 83473/4). I believe that this is an early pressing of this album. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - UAD 60003 A-1U (stampers 1 M) - side two - UAD 60003 B-1U (stampers 1 U) - side three - UAD 60004 A-2U (stampers 1 CD) - side four - UAD 60004 B-1U (stampers 1 L). I have graded the records as Ex+/Ex+ and believe that this is very fair.
I try to grade all my items as accurately and conservatively as possible and I will provide a full refund to any winner of my auctions who is not 100% satisfied. Please see my feedback for any references required.
