From my own personal collection I am pleased to offer an exceptional MINT- example of the iconic studio double album by AMON DUUL II titled “DANCE OF THE LEMMINGS”, Catalogue Number UAD 60003/4. This is an ORIGINAL 1971 UK 1st ISSUE on the UNITED ARTISTS RECORD LABEL, with a superb E. J. Day laminated gatefold sleeve. [The Matrix Numbers are the earliest A-1U, B-1U, A-2U and B-1U].

The fully-laminated gatefold sleeve, printed and made by the E. J. Day Group, London and Bedford, is in EX+ condition with virtually no wear and only a few very minor creases. I think that it will be almost impossible to find another sleeve of this standard.  

The top quality United Artists records retain their just pressed shine and sit perfectly flat on the turntable. Visually both records are in EX+/MINT- condition. The cream UA labels are like new with only a few short spindle traces near the centres. I bought this album upon release and can confirm that the records have only been played a few times using a high end cartridge with a light tracking weight.

PLAYGRADE ASSESSMENT:

These are top quality United Artists pressings which play with outstanding sound quality. The stereo playback is clear and vibrant with excellent detail and instrument separation. Both sides play essentially as new. There is no discernable deterioration in sound quality and barely any unwanted noise at all. You simply will not find a better-playing copy of this essential Krautrock psych masterpiece – I guarantee it!

Complete with the correct matching plain white inner sleeves which are in EX condition.

GRADINGS

The records that I offer for sale have been critically play-graded, at loud volume, on a Rega Planar 3 turntable fitted with an Elys 2 cartridge. I will only sell records that play to a high standard. My gradings are strict and in accordance with the following descriptions:

·         MINT- Record is superb, almost like new, with just a few sleeve removal type surface marks and no deterioration in sound quality. Sleeve is near perfect in all respects.

·         EX Record is a top quality example, with just a few very light surface marks which do not sound, and barely any discernable deterioration in sound quality. Sleeve has slight wear and/or creasing.

·         VG Record has some visual surface marks, but still plays to a high standard without any major deterioration in sound quality – just a few clicks or light surface sound in places. Sleeve has normal wear and tear without any major defects. Still a very presentable sleeve.

PACKAGING

Records are sent out in new “Wrapro” record mailers. These are rectangular and strong, providing excellent protection to the edges and corners. Records are removed from both inner and outer sleeves in order to prevent seam-splits in transit.
