Description
Andromeda “Andromeda” – Spectacularly Rare Psych-Prog classic
Original copy of Andromeda’s self-titled debut LP released in 1969 on the RCA Victor Orange Label. UK stereo SF 8031, Side 1 XGBS-0093 2E and Side 2 XGBS-0094 2E
Andromeda comprised singer guitarist John Cann (also known as John Du Cann), Mick Hawksworth (bass, vocals) and Ian McClane (drums). They were formed by Cann (previously of the Attack) and produced a single and this album. The group split when Cann joined Atomic Rooster, while Hawksworth later became a member of Ten Years After. They produced a heavy guitar-led psychedelic-progressive sound with elements appropriated from classical material.
Sleeve and record both in great condition. The vinyl is graded “very good +”, bright and shiny with a hairline on Side 2 and some marks which don’t affect play. Excellent sound quality on both sides with a small amount of background noise on the quieter parts.
The labels are in excellent condition, with a tiny amount of wear around the spindle. Original paper inner sleeve, although record has been placed in a Nagaoka anti-static sleeve for protection.
The sleeve is in “very good +” condition with some creasing to the laminated front cover and some discolouration through age particularly around the edges.
