Description

Andromeda, Self Titled – 1969 LP

Details

This is  an original Stereo 1969 1st UK pressing RCA : SF 8031 (Matrix: XGBS0093-1, XGBS0094-1)

This Is not only one of the rarer UP prog LPs it is one of the better ones. No Dr Z here, this is something you will want to listen to!

Its rarity is unusual because it is on a major label but it appears RCA pressed only a few copies and never repressed.

Tracks:

A1: Too Old,

A2: Day Of The Change,

A3: And Now The Sun Shines,

A4: Gold And Silver Turns To Dust

B1: Return To Sanity,

B2: The Reason,

B3: I Can Stop The Sun,

B4: When to Stop

Condition

Sleeve: The front lamination is lightly creased near the edges, some ringwear and faint staining, nothing serious, there are also light indentations visible against the light where someone has leant on the cover when writing on a piece of paper. The reverse is not laminated and shows some ringwear and areas of dirt, again nothing serious, when held to the light a couple of indentations and scuffs can be discerned.

Sleeve grading VG+

Vinyl: Initial appearance is good but closer examination under bright light brings up quite a few light paper scratches, there is nothing deep and the sound is good but one scuff is more visible and I have attempted to photograph this, it appears to be where someone has been careless taking the LP off the spindle as it can be seen on the label and runs across the runoff grooves and into the final track on side 1 - just over half an inch (1.5 cm) of the track is affected. It does not affect the sound. Without this scuff the vinyl would be a good VG+ but I will take it down a grade to be on the safe side. The label is clean, picture is slightly blurred because I scanned with the inner sleeve on the record

Provenance

I bought this record when I had a record shop in South Wales, I have owned it for about 15 years. I am only selling because I have been offered some other records I really want and these days the collection must pay for itself! This is a superb album musically and I am sorry to see it go..

Post

I will post in a stiff cruciform mailer with additional card inside, I insist on signed for mail or international recorded to overseas buyers
