This is a seven day auction for an RCA Living Stereo, Soria Series box set LDS 6065. The Royal Ballet, Gala Performances. The Nutcracker Suite /La Boutique Fantasque /Coppelia / Giselle / The Swan Lake / Carnival / Sleeping Beauty / Les Sylphides. The Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, conducted by Ernest Ansermet. Living Stereo, 1959. Two Original Shaded Dog LPs, 4s/1s/1s/1s Indianapolis stampers. Deluxe edition in an Ex+ cloth bound slipcase with the original booklet in beautiful M- condition with no tears, creases, staining or fading of the booklet and its insert. Audiophile TAS Super Disc List Recording of Special Merit. As this is a much sought after, very rare set, I want you to know as much about its condition as I can describe to you, because your satisfaction is of the utmost importance to me. Now, for the details! I grade conservatively and am a "stickler" about correct descriptions. I have completely play graded this set after wet cleaning on my Nitty Gritty machine. Vinyl: Side1: VG with 2 small areas of light ticks, one less than a minute and the other less than 30 seconds, good sound, no audible wear distortion. Some random pops and occasional light noise, but nothing significant. Side 2: VG+, with five light ticks on left channel in band 1 and twelve light ticks in band 3. There is some audible play wear. Side 3: VG several light spindle marks, several areas of very light ticks, but one major small, deep scratch producing about 40 seconds of loud ticking, no skipping or groove jumping, unfortunately in the part I love the most - the Pas De Deux in Swan Lake. No audible play wear. Side 4: Strong VG+ except for a pressing imperfection that produces a soft "bumping" sound about 25 times in band one, otherwise very pleasing, with no audible wear. Box: EX+, clean and intact except for one dented corner and some faint discoloration at lower left front quarter. The inside sleeve attached to the spine has some seam wear; the spine itself is beautiful. The inner sleeves show some yellowing from age and some expected edge wrinkling. This may not be a perfect set, but in more than 50 years as a vinyl collector the only perfect one I've ever seen was the brand-new one given to me as a gift in 1960! Please examine the pictures carefully before bidding and please ask any questions you might have. Consider my feedback since 1999 and bid accordingly. International shipping is express mail with insurance and delivery confirmation. If your country does not offer this service please do not bid. Bidders outside of the continental USA, please contact me before bidding, for a shipping price quote to your country. I will be listing more interesting records in the coming weeks so please watch for them. Thank you and Good Luck.
The front "nose"? of the inner sleeve has a split seam.
