WOW WHAT A FIND !!! This is a RARE ORIGINAL APPLE RECORDS / EMIDISC / BELWIN MILLS MUSIC - DEMO ACETATE SINGLE - PSYCH / ACID FOLK / THE BEATLES / APPLE RECORDS RELATED ACETATE by MARY HOPKIN + ANOTHER UNKNOWN and UNRELEASED TRACK from 1971, ORIGINAL UK DEMO ACETATE PRESSING IN GREAT CONDITION !!!
This ACETATE was for the A side of MARY HOPKIN - APPLE RECORDS single from 1971, of course APPLE RECORDS was THE BEATLES record label and they signed MARY HOPKIN to the label as they were fans of her !!! This was a music publishing ACETATE and came from the BELWIN-MILLS MUSIC library who were the publishers of this track and which I bought the library from !!! This sounds like a slightly different MIX to the APPLE RECORDS release, but could simply be for the fact that it is pressed on ACETATE ??? The B side has a COMPLETELY UNKNOWN and as far as I could find UNRELEASED track that sounds like a late period THE BEATLES, or solo GEORGE HARRISON track, but who is it by (you can even hear them talking at the beginning of the track)??? Any help please get in touch.
I have included sound sample from both sides on my Youtube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjgzzViaIpg
DON’T LET THIS PIECE OF UK PSYCH / ACID FOLK / THE BEATLES / APPLE RECORDS - HISTORY GET AWAY as it is probably the ONLY TIME you will be able to buy this DEMO ACETATE !!! I WILL HAVE SOME OTHER APPLE RECORDS / APPLE CORP. ACETATES IN FUTURE WEEKS ALL FROM THE SAME MUSIC RECORD LIBRARY !!!
ALL THE ACETATES I AM SELLING CAME FROM THE UK’s BIGGEST MUSIC PUBLISHING LIBRARY AND ARE ALL 100% GUARANTEED ORIGINALS !!!
The tracks are: MARY HOPKIN - LET MY NAME BE SORROW / UNKNOWN ARTIST - UNKNOWN TRACK.
The ACETATE was pressed by APPLE RECORDS / BELWIN-MILLS MUSIC PUBLISHING on an EMIDISC ACETATE.
The condition of the ACETATE is in /VG+++ / EX condition (Better then most ACETATES of this age, plays great with some crackle as ACETATES tend to have) !!!

You can hear someone saying “Faster” just before the music starts.
I had people suggesting that this is BADFINGER, or even THE BEATLES, but there is no definitive proof of who is on the B side. The fact that the Mary Hopkin track is from 1971 means nothing in relation to the B side as it is well known (and I have many like that), that record companies or publishing companies re-used Acetates (as they were expensive) and recorded other artists on the B side. The other side (which the label was obviously taken off on purpose, so that people only play the Mary Hopkin side), could have been recorded way before 1971. On 09-Feb-19 at 18:06:37 GMT, seller added the following information:Just had this message come through with comments from none other then Tony Visconti :
“ I am sitting with Tony and he says that this is The Iveys and Tom Evans singing. But Tony didn't produce this. Also that's not his handwriting" On 11-Feb-19 at 17:24:31 GMT, seller added the following information:OK, so the mystery thickens, after Tony Visconti said this was the Iveys, a member of the Iveys said this:
"Hi, not sure if you were aware, but there is a thread on the Badfinger Facebook page about this acetate. Ron Griffiths of the Iveys chimed in this morning and said that this was not in fact the Iveys, and said it was definitely not Tom Evans singing. Just thought I’d let you know. I wonder who it is? This is a real mystery!!!”A few people said that it sounds like Ringo Starr on backing vocals as well !!! On 16-Feb-19 at 18:40:25 GMT, seller added the following information:
Here is some new information that was just emailed to me via Ebay:
"From a long-time Beatles fan and musician (I'm 60 and been listening since I was 6): Take this for whatever you think it's worth. I hear what sounds like George singing lead and he is, probably, the writer because he is lead., Paul singing harmony (he even does his Little Richard "whoo" softly a couple of times before they sing and it sounds to me that he is the one saying "Faster") and Ringo commenting,a couple of times but I don't believe he's singing. It's possible that this is a demo done for Mary Hopkin for her future use. It would make sense that Paul would be there because he was producing her at the time”.
